I came across Euclid’s Algorithm today.
I never knew one existed, but it has been described as one of the earliest.
Take a look at the image below do you see the numbers 1/137 or 1 1 3 7 or maybe 10 7 3 1 anywhere in the work of EucLId highlighted in yellow…?
Euclid 1* = Nicomachus 1 x 7 = 7
Euclid 3* = Nicomachus 3 x 7 = 21
Euclid 7* = Nicomachus 7 x 7 = 49
Euclid 10* = Nicomachus 10 x 7 = 70?

Meander, Maeander, Mæander, or Maiandros (Ancient Greek: Μαίανδρος) is a river in Greek mythology, patron deity of the Meander river (modern Büyük Menderes River) in Caria, southern Asia Minor (modern Turkey). He is one of the sons of Oceanus and Tethys,[1] and is the father of Cyanee,[2] Samia[3] andKalamos.
Unraveling Roman mosaic meander patterns: A simple algorithm for their generation
Abstract: A geometrical analysis of the meander decorative patterns on a Roman pavement mosaic found at the Roman villa in Chedworth, England, is presented.
The analysis reveals that the intricate swastika meander pattern consisting of four closed curves could have been easily constructed using a very simple hypothesized algorithm.
The algorithm also explains the design of Roman swastika meanders found throughout the Roman Empire. Connections are indicated between these patterns and the sona traditional art of Angola as well as the kolam traditional art of Tamil South India. The analysis and algorithm described have applications to the classification of geometric mosaic patterns, the design of new patterns, and the reconstruction of mosaics that have been partially destroyed by the ravages of time.

I recently came across an article written by Patrick Conty in the magazine PARABOLA, published in 1992 called The Geometry of the Labyrinth.
back issue found here: http://www.parabola.org/175-vol-172.html
Patrick Conty , born in Berlin in 1937 of French parents, is an artist and theorist.
The article was enlightening. I am not surprised to learn that Patrick was born in 1937.

re: missing images ~ the artist Chantel Jumal would prefer you access her site link above to view her work.
Thank you Patrick for introducing me to the KOLAM and its geometric connection to the swastika and the Labyrinth!
